Using the best of South African artistic talent and experience gained through Chicco Sello Twala and DJ Walker, the previous Geneses Verse 2 album was filled with credible easy soulful kwaito original beats, with the gospel kwaito house track called ‘Simakade’. An album made with true talent, special for the festive season of 2003 and party experiences, for music lovers.
The group actively performed around the country and neighbouring countries to ever increasing audiences. The content of their album, as seen through the popularity of Afrika and extensive tours, resulted in the album selling in excess of 40 000 copies.
Geneses is certainly one of South Africa’s most successful kwaito bands.
With DJ Walker (Themba Dhladhla) as a producer behind Geneses album number 1 and 2, has contributed to the Group being taken into the hearts and souls of many people across Southern Africa. In 2002 Geneses entered one of their original songs, Phamkade meaning HIV (written by Themba Dhladhla) into the HIV AIDS national tour hosted by Love Life & Trust condom. It is a very good indication of what the band was and still is capable of.
The last three years have shaped the band into an incredible live act! Finding for them what really works on stage and off. This has also influenced their song writing skills.
